RIO’s Ground Beetle // Great Cantaria Beetle For Patagonia

While there are beetles present pretty much everywhere, this pattern is our #1 dry fly for trips to Patagonia. Chile and Argentina offer fisheries where the trout are highly reliant on terrestrial food sources, like the famous Cantaria Beetle.  The large #6 size is fished when the largest beetles are present, which happens every other year.  The smaller patterns, like the #10 make excellent Dung Beetles which fish extremely well at any time but especially well on spring creeks. We simply LOVE this pattern.
