It’s absolutely critical to have some good “non beadhead” options for nymphs especially when using a two-fly rig and one fly has enough weight to carry both nymphs into the bottom half of the water column.

One of our favorite ways to fish this perfectly tied version of a Pheasant tail, is to use it as the top fly or “tag fly” on a Euro nymph rig and let it flutter about 12″ off the bottom as a heavier anchor fly taps the brakes keeping your presentation working slowly.
